WHY IS LARRY NERVOUS?

Why is Larry nervous, peeking
Under half-closed lids?
Why is Larry comfort-seeking
Knowing that he hid
-- His lesser half, a wretched pair?
-- Blessed calf made to ensnare
-- The trickling of their mother, hair
-- Raised in hackles, all despair

Why is Larry reeking gloom
Gazing at his shoes?
Why is Larry courting tomb
Wrought from self-made blues,
-- Indigo from fear, from fright?
-- Rubato glances through the night,
-- Howls his twin bereft of light,
-- Sealed away from public sight

But try he may and try he might
-- His brother boils in his sea,
-- Seething liquid sanity
-- Hot with fury, he is free!
And so the wretched pair is one,
-- Flying to the sun they flee
-- The gasping and the grasping sea
-- They hear their mother's call to be

Back in mausoleum's bosom black
-- Under lock and key

Time for Larry to turn back, held
-- Under lock and key

And for his freedom from the fear
Larry trades his heart so dear
Lets nobody close or near
Yet one thing is still not clear:

Why is Larry nervous?
