SNOOZY SUSIE

A poem dedicated to my beloved cat Hildegarde von Kitty. I have a lot of pet names for her such as Balula, Woowee, and my favorites, always whispered in a hush: Snoozy Susie, Lazy Daisy, Napping Nelly, and Cozy Catherine. Love you, Hilde!
Snoozy Susie saw the clock;
She saw 'twas half past ten.
Full o' dread, 'n fear, 'n shock,
The cat dashed from her den.

Snoozy Susie would be late,
Her sorries said a-hasty.
Sat in front her dinner plate
Was a meal so tasty!

Snoozy Susie licked the dish,
Her manners but forgotten.
Yet fine the feast, so full of fish,
No mind her etiquette a-rotten.

Snoozy Susie saw the clock;
She saw 'twas half past one.
Full o' meat, 'n milk, 'n yawns,
The kitty's day was done.

Snoozy Susie's date did end;
She waddled oh so fat.
Said "Goodbye! Farewell my friends!"
'N dust her paws upon the mat.

Snoozy Susie tucked in bed,
Her motor all a-purr.
This dreamy cat's belly fed:
Ball o' whiskers, downy fur.
